Things to do in Dalton Massachusetts

Wahconah Falls State Park in Dalton features a series of waterfalls and pools in a heavily wooded setting. The site features picnicking facilities with grills, fishing, and hiking, and allows visitors with dogs. Almost 10 miles of the Appalachian Trail passes through the community. Adjacent to the AT, Berkshire Natural Resources Council maintains the 645-acre Boulders property with more than six miles of trails offering easy and more strenuous hikes for hiking, biking, hunting, dog walking, and cross-country skiing. The 2.8-mile blue trail terminates in a vista that looks southwest over Pittsfield and the Taconic Range and features large glacial boulders that give the site its name. Birdwatchers, hunters, anglers, and others enjoy the more remote areas of Day Mountain Wildlife Management Area and Chalet Wildlife Management Area.
